Updated: not suitable for rubber bands and ties

When I bought them about 6 months ago I said they hold up well but are difficult to remove and the dangling parts are uncomfortable for a grown woman. I've only used them a few times since because they were so annoying. I returned it last night and had trouble getting a bun instead of a ponytail onto the chin length white chick hair. Group. I only brushed my hair before I put it on and most nights my hair doesn't get tangled at all. Anyway, this time it was so bad between the ribbon and theโ€ฆ

Cocks hurt my scalp and now they don't

I have long thin hair. My regular ponytail holders started hurting me about a year ago - I don't know why - and I either had to find a solution or cut my hair. Did some googling and found this one. They work! I don't think they would be any good if the hair was barely long enough to be combed back - I need to get a good grip on the bangs before I can adjust the elastic. For those of us with long hair, they offer an easy solution to the over-loose or over-tight bands we encounter. I love that Iโ€ฆ

Great in theory, bad in execution

The concept is great, but the flaws are huge. First, the beads *come* into your hair and twist around the strands, defeating the purpose of not pulling your hair like a traditional pony. You can solve this problem by cutting off the beads you paid for. Second, after some use, the pony will stretch and the locking mechanism will no longer press tight, preventing slippage. So they slip and have to be pulled up like traditional ponies. This can be solved with a high quality metal lock. Soโ€ฆ

Works great but is a bit pricey

I always find that normal hair ties are never perfect. Two turns and it's too loose, three turns and it looks like it's pulling on the back of the head. These sliding ponytail holders allow you to adjust the elastic both tight and loose as needed. They are pretty easy to install and stay in place once you put them on. I give 4 stars instead of 5 for two reasons: 1) they are expensive. For the price of two, I could buy about 20 regular hair ties. Hopefully they last a lot longer than regularโ€ฆ
