I was so excited to try this product. My gym clothes smelled despite hot water, longer wash cycles, more detergent, extra rinsing and hanging before washing. Nothing could drive away the stench. Enter Lysol and wow, this stuff really works! My gym clothes no longer had a persistent odor that I couldn't get rid of. Problems arose about two weeks later when I developed an insanely itchy rash all over my body. It was everywhere, and I mean everywhere. It even got uncomfortable to walk when my boxers touched some, shall we say, sensitive areas that were affected. The rash was so severe that I could not sleep through the night for several weeks. Good that we have a temporary job from home. Otherwise I would not be able to go to work for some time. While it's impossible to know for sure without testing, the only major change in my daily routine was using Lysol laundry sanitizer. Given the time and other reports of itchy rashes I can only conclude that Lysol Laundry Sanitizer caused the rash. I followed all the directions on the bottle to use a side loading washer, I used the longest cycle with an extra rinse and still got a bad rash. My doctor ended up prescribing both topical and oral steroids. I washed all my clothes multiple times to get rid of the Lysol. Three weeks later, the rash is still not gone, although it has at least faded somewhat and is less itchy. I will never use this or any other laundry additive again. We only have to contend with hot water and a simple detergent.
