Works great with my 14.5 inch / 20 oz bulbs (smaller than the standard size bulbs, they are rated for 40w bulbs!). However, the bulb is slightly hotter than standard bulbs. I managed to do that, make a flat aluminum foil ring and put it around the bulb a little higher than the bulb, the globe pushes it down a little, which is normal for the heat like a radiator. Now it works great and the price was great. If the bulbs were dimmable you could just use a dimmer adapter. Anyway it took about 30 seconds and minimal effort to get my bulbs working and at a good price hence 5 stars
