Lightweight, durable bag with thoughtful features

I've only had this bag for a short time and while I haven't used it extensively, there are a few details I particularly like about this design. FEATURES: It's literally all metal, no flimsy plastic that can break at the wrong time. Unusually, the zipper, the strap adjustment rings, they all appear to be made of light metal (maybe aluminum). Having experienced the strap adjuster latch when carrying a smaller backpack, I really appreciate it. .WASHABLE: I love that this is advertised as a washable bag. I won't do that much, but it's nice to know it could go straight into the car in an accident. I think it's also good for decontamination to keep things clean around the baby. The inside has a shiny metallic insulating coating that is also easy to wipe off. STRENGTH: The material is fairly light yet strong. I think the trade-off between weight and strength is a bit unusual and I wasn't expecting it - the material *creases* quite loudly. I expect it will get better with time and weather? Be prepared for it to squirm like a bag of potato chips every time you put it on the floor. STRAPS: The shoulder strap is actually long enough to use as a bag. I've had other diaper bags - backpacks - but the straps are always so damn short you can only hang them on your wrist. This is a true convertible bag, although you'll need to think about how to handle the backpack's straps if you plan on carrying it as a tote. POCKETS: Small short pocket on the front above the outer compartment. This is a great place to toss small items like keys that get lost in the massive main compartment. The main compartment also has plenty of sewn-in stretch pockets for sorting other essentials on the spot. ZIPPER: I'm glad that each bag has a handy zipper. Warning: whichever zip is chosen here, it tends to sag a little - opening and closing requires a little more force than a standard zip. fashion forward and doesn't scream "mommy bag" - but can easily be used as an outdoor garment to take to the gym or errands, making it longer lasting than most soft bag items.
