I was looking for nice flickering candles for the windows of our house for Christmas. It seemed that everything around him looked really "plastic". I've had them throughout the Christmas period so I think I can make a fair judgment now. The wax pillar is great, the shimmer is good, the remote control is good, the coasters are cheap but these are minor things to me as they really aren't visible on the windowsill. The biggest plus is that once you turn them on, you don't actually have to turn them off - they're very energy efficient. The light could be brighter; The brighter option on the remote didn't seem to do much. I wanted to love the remote but it didn't seem that great; You have to get very close and sometimes change the angle of the candlestick to get the signal. If you select flicker mode and all the candles are together, they flicker at the same time, which makes them really fake (press one at a time, then press flicker - it hurts a bit). Overall, they're still better than what I've seen at most retail stores over the holidays.
