Well, I know there were people who paid attention to the quality of these frames. However, I am more than impressed with these recordings. I ordered three frames for high quality fine art reproductions and these frames fully met my needs. The frame is decent solid wood with a nice black finish. There is no glass in these frames but a really nice thick plexiglass like material that looks like glass unless you touch it. I prefer glass free frames for this particular project as the frames are very lightweight and easy to work with. I also don't have to worry about broken glass if something happens while driving. The mats are beautiful and perfectly cut. The frame construction is solid enough for me and actually no worse than some of the "gallery quality" frames I've bought from other sellers. The backing boards ARE cardboard with snaps on them, which didn't really bother me either because I could attach the backing board more firmly so the prints wouldn't slip or move when hung. However, I see some people considering it "cheap" since the overall cost of the frame is comparable to the cost of a regular frame with a back. You MUST attach the hardware to hang the frame, ie: screw on the hooks, then attach the picture wire. I didn't find it made much of a difference either, and the screws went into the frame fairly easily with some pressure. I understand how that might put some people off, but I didn't mind. I think if you know what you're getting yourself into before you buy an item, you can't get too excited about it.
