This is a smart idea and I thought the design and materials were good for the price. The problem is that when you try to separate a liquid in this way you are at the mercy of hydrodynamics, and if you've ever tried pouring liquid slowly out of a glass then you've already noticed that liquids act funny because they're "sticky" . I even used a level to find a perfectly flat surface on my countertops. Each time he gives much more to one side than the other, sometimes almost twice as much. I hope this company will continue to figure out how this device works stably and solve its problems because this is a great idea. On the other hand, twenty bucks isn't much if you want to tinker with it. I returned mine. Maybe they should try making some grooves on the drain board like they do in coffee maker filter baskets? Or maybe make smaller holes for the spout to allow the coffee concentrate to collect at the bottom before spilling out, hopefully preventing the liquid from trying to follow the first path it takes instead of separating properly?
