————— Update 11/24/2021——— No damage so far. The non-slip bottom unfortunately collects a lot of dust and dirt, but you have the choice to remove it, so if it gets really bad I just remove it. No rust on metal. I've recently switched brands of paper towels and they are thicker and fit the holder very well. Just keep in mind that thicker paper towels are very snug until you remove a layer, but if you use paper towels frequently, this will go away in about a day. It still works for me.————— Original———— I bought this because I'm trying to change my theme to a farmhouse. I love the warmth of wood and the homey feeling it gives, so I wanted to replace my metal back towel dispenser with a standing wooden dispenser. This is the best I could find. Most with wood have a silvery metallic finish or the wood is too artificial. Also, most of them fit my theme very well. So far the wood on it has been darker than the picture but I have followed reviews that had a picture showing what it looks like. It's definitely the dark side, so keep that in mind. In fact, the photos I took don't show how much darker it is. If it's in an area with poor lighting, it looks almost like an espresso color. But when there is light, it looks dark brown. I love it and knew what I was getting, but it would be nice to let others know if that's not the goal. Also easy to assemble. There was one review that worried me that assembly wasn't possible due to the screws, but I'm happy to report that's not my case. The black metal went in smoothly and they provide an anti-slip pad with adhesive to secure it. When you add it, it will cover the screw hole to make it look better. Overall I'm happy with my choice. I loved how easy it was to put together and the woodwork on the details. I'm still not even sure if it's real wood, but it looks like real wood. What I think might be an issue for some is the color as I said it is darker than the picture. I knew what I was getting so I'm not deducting a star.
