Not Optimal for Homemade Yeast Reactors

If you're a curmudgeon like me and planning on using this with a homemade yeast reactor system this will work, but you need to make sure your reactor and tubes are strong seals. A fairly good pressure is required before the CO2 escapes through the ceramic, and it's difficult to make a home-built system that won't let in air at that pressure. It's entirely possible, but be aware. Also, the rate of diffusion in the DIY system will be limited compared to the setting of the tank/regulator. I've used one of these in each of my 20 gallon tanks and it *just* got the CO2 levels right. Offer. Granted, I use an air pump and lift tubes/foam filters for filtration, so I release some CO2 that way. So you can probably use them in a large tank if you're using a plant-only setup, but for a homemade CO2 fish and plant tank I think you're limited to around 20 gallons before it doesn't do much. Diffusion I would recommend a Mazzei venturi injector on the bypass line, but it's a little tricky.
