So far I am very satisfied with this lamp. I've had it installed for about a week now and feel like I've made a good purchase. Perfect size light for my 40 gallon grower. It offers excellent light even when placed directly on the aquarium. I feel like I could take it higher and still get plenty of light from it. A few plants I have in my aquarium seem to enjoy the light and grow quickly. For the price I would definitely buy another one if I decide I need more light in the future. I only have one complaint about this light and it is minor. The side supports, which slide out to accommodate different sized aquariums, don't stand up to the light at all. It's just a loose wire sliding inside. When you hit the light, these supports shift and this can create a scary moment where you feel like the light might fall. I wish they were held together with some sort of locking mechanism, but for the price I can live with that.
