A good bang for the buck so far.

One month use and excellent light so far. This lantern was mounted on the bow of an Aqueon 46 Gall. It illuminates the aquarium well and is very suitable for growing plants. At just under $60 for a light this size, it's worth it. It's well built, in a nice metal case. Sufficient cable length. I enabled the Blue Only feature and everything is fine. I don't really use it, although the light is hooked up to a timer that just turns it off. I can highly recommend that at the moment. If there are any

The absolute best value for money.

I have a 38 gallon tank. The 36" model is a perfect fit. The light quality from this full spectrum LED aquarium light is phenomenal. This is a very economical way to upgrade your aquarium lighting. You get quality light but without potentially unnecessary features. A built in timer or a fancy remote control .You may not be able to program a simulated thunderstorm in your tank but you can get great light with a little more programming and control and save a few hundred bucks over very similar…

Fits great on aqueon 40 Breer

I bought this for a large freshwater aquarium. The price was $52. The breeder sits perfectly on the Akeon 40. My plants are growing well. I use Excel and fertilizer. My Eleocharis parvula grows there. I don't think it's bright enough for plants that need a lot of light. I didn't remove the film/tape from the lamp for a few days, didn't realize it was there. After the first week it's a little faded but still bright. The mounts were upside down, just pull out and put back in. After two weeks, a…

May 11, 2017: Koval Inc 129 LED Aquarium Light with Retractable Arms, 36" to 43": I bought one of these about a year ago. The adapter cable had a single pin and was not waterproof. No longer works due to damage to the cable connector. The new one I just received this week has a double rubber bushing connection. Once plugged in, there's a hard plastic cap that screws into a thread on the other section, creating a watertight (or at least very watertight) seal that's only inches from the light…

Better than brand name

Used for an aquarium with some live plants as it was the same size and number of LEDs as a similar sea bottom light (which I paid almost twice as much for) . I ordered 2 more because this light is great for growing freshwater plants in my 30 gallon tank and keeps my guppy and shrimp fry looking great. Flipping the legs and a dab of superglue to hold them in place is a small price to pay for the same board with a larger selection of LEDs. The plaques even have the same inscriptions. To update…

Lots of good things for fish and aquatic animals

So far I am very satisfied with this lamp. I've had it installed for about a week now and feel like I've made a good purchase. Perfect size light for my 40 gallon grower. It offers excellent light even when placed directly on the aquarium. I feel like I could take it higher and still get plenty of light from it. A few plants I have in my aquarium seem to enjoy the light and grow quickly. For the price I would definitely buy another one if I decide I need more light in the future. I only have…

Incredible performance for the price - 3 years or more

I have been using this flashlight 24/7 for over 3 years with no problems. Tank 24 inches deep 50 gallons. Plant growth is a little slow at this tank depth, but conscious placement (avoid shade and overgrowth around, say, my Anubias) ensures moderate growth. Note: I'm not picky about algae on the walls of my aquarium; I prefer to keep the nitrates under control. Keeping the light on 7-8 hours a day slows the growth of algae significantly (I have about 10 hours a day). , vibrates enough for a low

  • Basically everything is fine but...

I bought this LED light in 2016. I'm happy with it, but I have to buy a new one because my power cord/switch broke shortly after purchase. This problem did not occur in "typical use" per se. I had a lantern on the floor while servicing the tank and tripped over the spot where the power cord goes into the lantern. This completely destroyed the LED so nothing worked until I wiggled the connection. Inspired by the possibility of fixing my broken flashlight, I opened it up and MacGyver fixed it and
