The Beat Java Moss!

I use greenpro java moss and baby tears in all my display tanks, breeding tanks and aquascape displays. It is quite beautiful; thick, green, healthy and thus far ALWAYS pest free which is a huge deal. you get a really nice thick and green portion for the price. Unlike the sad stringy bits I've been sent previously by other stores.Ive never seen one snail on his java moss but as precaution I rinse the plant in alternating hot / cold water several times. I used to soak it in an aluminum dip as I…

Pros
  • BEST QUALITY : With our experience, every plants from Greenpro will be professionally inspected, packed and organized with suitable boxes for all weather conditions to make sure that will retain the freshness and healthiness to our customer hands.
Cons
  • Can be difficult to acquire

Very healthy and fast growing.

I bought these mid January in Minnesota (averaging -30 to -10 degrees during the day) and they were in my mailbox when I got home from work. I found them frozen but still green, I put them in my tank and I lost one small chunk later they took off and now I'm looking for something to keep then in check because my rocks are covered and now it looks like they have perms.

Pros
  • Had a few brown patches, but for the most part it was a nice healthy pick of java moss
Cons
  • Is wasn't green like I would love to, will see how it goes

Good amount. Healthy specimen.

Added this stuff to my tank about 2 months ago. Used crazy glue to tack it on to some driftwood and it has done really well. Looks great.I have them in a 120 gallon aquarium (48x24x24) with CO2 injection. I am using a Finnex Planted Plus 24/7 SE and a Beamswork 48" fixture for lighting.

Pros
  • EASY AND READY TO GROW : Moss can be grown in any size of tank. Nano tank, shrimp tank, betta etc to large aquarium tank. Can be attached to rocks, driftwoods, background moss wall.
Cons
  • Can potentially overcrowd the aquarium

Great deal!: my feedback

UPDATE 7/30/2020: It bounced back and I've been having to either give it to my friends or just throw it away every other month. It's like a beautiful weed that grows like hippy grass. Would definitely buy again, but I don't need to because it's awesome.Arrived packed into a tiny cup, which sounds kinda bad, but really, the amount that was in there didn't seem physical possible when I removed it. It was lush and green and stayed that way for about a week. Then all but a few pieces turned brown…

Pros
  • am very happy plants are thriving
Cons
  • it arrived brown and has stayed that way despite having a high tech tank set up.

I buy all my plants from this vendor.

This is some of the best moss and if I hadn't had a pond snail problem in my shrimp tank from Petco plants I'd be a completely happy camper with this tank. That's not the moss or vendors fault just be careful where you buy plants. I have 2 tanks. The second tank only has plants from this vendor and there is not one pond snail and never have been in his plants. Oh and my shrimp love this moss. I have lots and I think they're multiplying. I tied the moss down to wood roots and they look pretty…

Pros
  • The moss is a great way to add more greenery to your aquarium
Cons
  • Can be prone to algae growth

Mostly brown and infested tank with worms

Arrived on time. Mostly brown, probably due to a crack in the container. Had to toss most of it. What’s left is struggling and brownish. My water is balanced and I use liquid fertilizers daily. It came infested with microscopic flatworms. My tank is now a breeding ground. For the price I’m less than pleased. Had another let down with this company in the same order. Will not be ordering again.

Pros
  • It's perfect for creating a lush underwater landscape
Cons
  • Might not be aesthetically pleasing to some

It had snails. - my new review

Fortunately, I had put it in a quarantine tank. I will have to do a salt water drench to try and kill any hidden snails or eggs. I won't be ordering it again. Shame really, it is very verdant and was well harvested.

Pros
  • It's one of the fastest-growing aquarium plants
Cons
  • Can cause water cloudiness

Price does not equal quality

This product isn't nearly as green as I thought it would be, it arrived mostly brow . The photo is after 24 hours in the aquarium and the condition hasn't changed at all. I'm a little annoyed because I paid more for superior product and instead got something of lesser value. I could have bought better looking moss for around $5 at my LFS but I thought this stuff would be better quality and it isn't.

Pros
  • Pet Supplies
Cons
  • Might require additional upkeep

great product, healthy

Exactly what I was hoping for and there really was a lot packed into the cup I did not expect to be able to cover so much area with it, I got 2 cups thinking I would use it as accents but I ended up being able to cover half of my 18x18 terrarium (I will be growing it emersed for my dart frogs) anyway, great product, healthy, no pests

Pros
  • Greenpro Java Moss is very durable and can last for many years
Cons
  • Can be difficult to remove dead or dying patches

Other plants are great but not the Java moss!

I have loved the quality of other aquatic plants I bought from Greenpro so I thought that i'd try to make a moss wall with their Java moss. It looked ok in the cup, a little brown and much darker green than I was expecting but-- Ugh! Even after rinsing and soaking and two chlorine dips, it smelled so bad that I couldn't stomach working with it anymore let alone putting it in my aquarium.

Pros
  • Java Moss is a great way to add interest and texture to your aquarium
Cons
  • Can become entangled with other plants or objects

Great moss just do your research and stick with it.

Came mostly brown. Attached to drift wood. Then grew green hair algae over it added snails. They cleaned everything up miss is now green and perfect. Given time and love the moss is amazing.

Pros
  • The plant is resistant to diseases and pests
Cons
  • Often requires additional lighting to thrive

There are snails. best in my review

Not a big deal to me BUT my order came with tiny snails. Upwards of a dozen I've counted. I figured I'd mention something considering it's advertised as pest-free.

Pros
  • It can grow in low-light environments
Cons
  • Might contribute to oxygen depletion in the water

Fresh and GREEN good for me

I've been having a hard time finding nice aquatic plants for our new tank. The plants offered in the pet stores is mostly brown and in horrible shape. I was hesitant to buy on-line but I've always had good luck with Revain returns if a product is subpar. I was extremely pleased with what arrived. It was packaged very well, and insulated. The java moss was in a small cup, but it was moist and bright green. When I took it out it was a very generous amount. I ended up splitting it between three…

Pros
  • The plant is perfect for creating a moss wall in your aquarium
Cons
  • May not grow evenly throughout the aquarium

Clean, healthy, packaged well, and arrived early

Wonderful product! Arrived early sealed in a container, was healthy green, there was more than I thought there would be, and I haven't noticed any snails ect while cleaning or while in the tank. I'm very happy with this purchase.

Pros
  • Java Moss can be used to create a natural-looking stream or riverbed in your aquarium
Cons
  • Can be difficult to remove from aquarium walls

Okay, but not as impressed as I wish.

I will change this review if the Moss begins to look better. It arrived earlier than expected which is great! However, the moss is more brown than green, which may change since it’s been less than a week. The two cups were a good portion. I gave it three stars because it’s still early and I’m not sure how I’ll feel in a week or two if it comes to life.

Pros
  • The moss can be used to cover unsightly fishnets or other tools used in your aquarium
Cons
  • Might clash with certain aquarium decor

Highly recommend this seller!

Much more than I was expecting! Moss came in a well sealed container & sealed in thermal packaging. Bright green & very healthy. It wasnt cheap but you get what you pay for & this company is of highest quality! You wont regret your purchase!

Pros
  • Greenpro Java Moss is grown in a sterile environment, ensuring it's free from pests and diseases
Cons
  • May need to be replaced frequently

The amount of Java moss was hefty.but the tiny pieces and brown pieces all got thrown out.it was also delivered on a sub zero day with no amazon notification and sat in my mailbox. This could’ve been an issue with the brown moss, just not the small pieces. I ended up tying a few pieces with fishing line to mesh and haven’t seen much improvement. I’m a newer freshwater nerd, so trying my hardest to understand.

Pros
  • It's perfect for creating a natural environment for fish that come from rivers or streams
Cons
  • Can be difficult to keep orderly

Arrived alive and well

I mainly purchased this for use inside vivariums with reptiles/amphibians but I also decided to setup a 10 gallon tank to keep growing it and to make a shrimp tank. It arrived fast and in pretty good condition and in a good amount, the picture with the lid off was as good as I could tweak my S9+ to not be saturated and looks pretty close to what it looked like in person. It's been 2 weeks since I put it in my new tank and so far even though I'm in the middle of cycling the tank, that's also…

Pros
  • It's perfect for creating a natural-looking cave system in your aquarium
Cons
  • Can be damaged by strong currents in the water

Good clean moss - my new review

Roughly 1/2 cup of moss came fresh and green. It's fairly compacted in the cup so I was pleasantly surprised when I began attaching it to driftwood in my tank. It went a long way. At this point in time, I've only had it a few days. It seems to be alive and well. I would recommend this much highly than the stuff that comes pre-attached to coconut shells. Definitely a better, clean product.

Pros
  • Java Moss provides oxygen to the aquarium and helps keep the water clean
Cons
  • May not be suitable for some aquarium setups

Had snails in my review

Well you get what you pay for. While I did get live java moss, packed well it had snails. I have caught 3 pound snails so far.

Pros
  • Greenpro Java Moss is a sustainable and eco-friendly choice for your aquarium
Cons
  • Might not be suitable for all aquarium types
