I bought this for a large freshwater aquarium. The price was $52. The breeder sits perfectly on the Akeon 40. My plants are growing well. I use Excel and fertilizer. My Eleocharis parvula grows there. I don't think it's bright enough for plants that need a lot of light. I didn't remove the film/tape from the lamp for a few days, didn't realize it was there. After the first week it's a little faded but still bright. The mounts were upside down, just pull out and put back in. After two weeks, a screw fell out of the panel and got stuck somewhere under the LED panel. The blue light only feature is cool, I don't use it because I have it on my timer. I had to give this lamp a few stars, I gave a bad review but it's not bad. I mean it's made in China, you get what you pay for, it does the job.
