Revainrating 5 out of 5

Really big areas. COOL

I'm a small workshop engineer doing everything from home design to electronics. I use the Aurora 5S for my own design prototypes and small production runs. I'm really impressed with the performance at this price point and pleased with the ease of setup for my first 3D printer. It's not perfect, but there's a whole group of people trying things with this model and coming up with everything from recommendations for chart settings for thread types to modifications. This is a manufacturer's dream. Likes: Easy setup, Huge support, Community story, HUGE stuff (12x12x12), Support for most common stuff, Reproducible performance after typing Cons: Platform leveling is slow and can be painful and you have to be careful. The temperature limits at the extruder are low. enough to rule out the toughest materials like nylon and polycarbonate. Not a high speed machine as the extruder seems to be underpowered. Tips: Use a feeler gauge to level the layer and check again. Seconds slower than recommended, floss a few millimeters while moving your head between layers or areas, especially on delicate materials like Petg. differ between fractured area and successful head lift about a millimeter during head movements over completed layers, work slow (20mm/s) bed layers on heated bed with blue masking tape placed neatly on bed, buy lots of blue masking tape! Would I buy more? Yes I just did! To update. I bought an Acer A5 clone for a great price. Really frustrating bed leveling issues due to warped platform. I tried everything and never got better than two points. on the front /3 beds. I take it apart and the A5s continues to work. Just got a second A5s. I hope it repeats the characteristics of my first A5s! A really nasty problem with belt slippage in the X-axis.

Pros
  • Durable Finish
Cons
  • Damaged
