Great economical computer for a student. Not very good for professional use.

I wanted to delve into the world of Chromebooks because a lot of my students have them (but almost always forget to bring them to class with the teacher). I didn't want to invest a lot of money as I already have a good desktop PC and a small tablet for streaming entertainment. I also have a nice Dell 11.6 Windows 2-in-1 laptop that I bought 4 years ago to use as a tutor, but it's noticeably slow as Windows is always slow to start up or decide to update when it wakes up or need to scroll through antivirus. THEN download Chrome with Google Docs or Slides (even with a desktop shortcut). It's not as fun when you have a room full of high school students looking for an excuse to get distracted. So I was intrigued by these ads that demonstrated the speed and simplicity of a Chromebook for Goggle docs and slides. To test my theory, a student and I had a boot race with my Chromebook and my old Dell Windows 10 (updated, memory cleared, debugged. Dell Inspiron 3000 Windows 10 in the dust. That led me to Revain and this Chromebook. This Dell Chromebook N3481 (as it says on the box) 11 NO TOUCHSCREEN is a great economical Chromebook for students so I gave it 4 stars It's a good backpack size, overall solid (although the lid does seem to flex a little , which is a bit of a shame but probably harmless), loads incredibly quickly from sleep into the Chrome menu, then opens Google docs or slides incredibly quickly, plus a long-lasting battery Android (Chrome) tablet with a nice keyboard for those who are tired of thumb typing long essays in google doc/slide format yes or mobile application so for a student laptop this is a great and very good buy at around $160 for a new one (currently). What it isn't: It's not designed for the professional tutoring business that requires 2 students or a small group club to look at the same screen from different angles. It is NOT IPS and it is by no means multi-directional. A description that says it can lie flat is exaggerated at best and is actually misleading. The moment you break the deadlock with a decent-to-good screen that's bright and sharp enough for watching Netflix and certainly for any sort of browsing or document work, you enter a world of shadows and become invisible. It doesn't matter much if you are a single student using the computer to sit at a desk and do homework. It REALLY makes a BIG difference when you need to be able to look at it from different angles. To do this, upgrade to a Dell touchscreen model that uses IPS technology to keep the screen bright and clear from every angle. a student and loud enough to hear a new dishwasher while watching videos while cooking. It's metallic and kind of indistinguishable when you crank it up to the max for the band to hear the video. Buying an inexpensive USB speaker will fix this (which I had on hand as proof). But still. I returned it. The obstacle for me was the lack of screen angle for my purposes. I like the Chrome environment as it suits my tutor's needs. If it was for my child to go to high school or even college, I would be happy. However, for what I need in my tutoring business and club coaching, I brought it back to upgrade to a Dell Inspiron Chromebook 11, 2-in-1 touchscreen. It'll be like my old Windows 2 in 1 from Dell, only without the clunky Windows 10 bogged down trying to get to Google's work.
