Review on Efficient Cleaning with BLACK+DECKER FSM1616 Steam Mop in White/Blue by Franciszka Henke ᠌

Bought today from the manufacturer for 6990. By the way - I am also the owner of Kitfort KT-1001-3 ("kitten/whale" :-)) with which I can compare. B&D, of course, is much better on first impressions - primarily due to better performance. In more detail: 1) B&D is more maneuverable - it is easier to wash corners and hard-to-reach areas (under furniture on legs), as B&D rotates at the base ("kitten" in principle cannot rotate). 2) A removable water tank (it is smaller than that of the "whale") - but, unlike the "whale", it is all transparent and it is easier to visually control the fullness - not critical, but nice. After use in all such devices, it is recommended to drain the water - this is an obvious convenience. 3) build quality - traditionally high for the manufacturer - good plastic, flexible elastic cord, structural elements. Much nicer than "whale". 4) steam generation options - there are 3 power settings, the "whale" has only one. 5) warming up and supplying steam - it heats up faster for a couple of seconds than a whale, steam is supplied more evenly and noticeably more powerfully. 6) the cord is a little short, you won’t go from one room to another without switching. Not critical, basically. 7) a rag - with Velcro, in a whale it is stretched like a cover with a puff. More convenient B&D. The quality of the rags is not critically different 8) washing platform area - see photo. At B&D it is noticeably larger + there is an additional option to reduce it. In general, it is too early to draw conclusions about the operation - just a couple of hours have passed. But my whale died for a little over a month (I forgot to drain the water and went to the country) - the purchase was caused by this very reason. I have not seen a single negative review on the reliability of B&D on foreign sites. Perhaps someone will find the price high, especially in comparison with the whale. But, given the financial opportunity, it is better to buy better things - as the British say, "we are not rich enough to buy cheap things."
