A simple and inexpensive phone holder that works

I've been using this with my iPhone 6 Plus for about a week now. Can't speak to the hot summer months that others have mentioned, but now, in the middle of a typical South Dakota winter, it works great, holding my car's dash and keeping my iPhone secure. I chose this phone holder from many. others because I haven't had good experiences with windshield suction cups (no matter what, they always lost their grip and dropped my iPhone - I can't afford to keep paying for an iPhone replacement despite having insurance). I didn't bother with the design of the cup holders as they would keep my iPhone out of my sight too far when I need it most when using Maps or Google Maps (I like looking at a map while driving when I'm in unfamiliar terrain - no mapping application typically tells me in advance of upcoming turns). Of course there are more practical phone holders, but they are much more expensive and I just couldn't justify the prices. For my use, this sticky roadster pad fits the bill and does what I need without fuss. If I don't want to use it, I can put it in the glove compartment. Previously it didn't have to be cleaned to bring back the sticky clutch. He still has a firm grip on the dash, even after careless roommates dumped him on the carpet (instead of being careful). I'll update how it works once the usual hot summer gets here and see if the same issues occur. If you're looking for a basic phone holder that's inexpensive and easy to use, this one should be for you.
