I bought this jacket to use primarily as a travel jacket and it should be perfect for my use. Three outer zippered pockets and one inner zippered pocket are enough for keys, wallet, phone, passport and a few other small items for a TSA check. Other vests I've tried have way too many pockets, especially if you try to use them all. It's lightweight so won't cause discomfort in the summer and is a good addition in cold weather. It comes with a detachable hood for cool or wet weather. I'm 6ft 1" and 220 and XL, albeit a bit too loose but would probably be fine over a sweater. I like the length but wouldn't mind if it was an inch or two shorter. Probably too long for those under 6ft. I tried L in a more expensive vest and it was too tight. Regardless of the size, this vest is also better than the more expensive one for other reasons. This is a new purchase so I can't comment on durability or water resistance. It looks good, and from what I can remember it's supposed to be waterproof. My only complaint is that the zipper is on the "women's side" of the jacket and it's just not comfortable. Why do they do this with clothing sold under the heading 'men's waistcoat' and why do men and women have opposite zippers/buttons? An insurmountable problem, but I prefer the zipper on the "male" side.
