Review on πŸ”’ Waterproof SlimFold Minimalist RFID Wallet for Men - Essential Wallets, Card Cases & Money Organizers by Jim Cronin

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Functional but expensive

The best foldable wallet I have ever owned. In my opinion, the best minimal wallets/phone cases come with card holders. But if you're still using a lot of cash, this is a great buy (if a little pricey): you don't have to struggle with folding and refolding cash, deal with loose money clips, and it's easier to pull out and close individual cash rank them from lowest to highest (or vice versa) on the fly, which gets you in and out of the store instantly instead of standing at the end of the line like an idiot at the checkout, organizing, piling, and arranging your money. The purse is very water-repellent, but not waterproof. It can withstand heavy rain or a blast with a super washcloth, but if you jump into a pool of water don't expect your money to stay dry as there's no fully sealed case. The fabric is very light and thin. , but due to the design it covers a large area like a hipster wallet. In its standard position (folded in half) it is nearly 5 inches (about 2 1/3 standard cards) at its widest point. You might have trouble getting it in pants with tiny pockets. There are 11 separate card slots, way more than I think you need. But if you need more and plan to fold the map case, be aware that the fabric will stretch and become loose. For example, if you're going to put two cards in the same slot for an extended period of time, it's best to leave two cards in that slot forever and not go any lower unless you want the card to slide out on its own. I like how the cards are deployed vertically instead. horizontal as it is easier to see and take out with less effort/accuracy. The wallet has been enlarged. A standard US bill is 6 x 2.5 and a cash slot is approximately 10 x 3.75. Due to the exorbitant amount of space, it may seem unusual to take cash with you at first, but over time you get used to it. Very handy, especially for long cheques, as in most cases you can simply insert it without folding it. There are no hidden pockets for coins and knick-knacks, so you have to put it in your pocket or just toss it in the big wallet to use RFID. I have the cheapest color option and it includes RFID protection, which is odd. I guess orange stitched charcoal and RFID aren't that popular? Anyway, there aren't any supermarkets or retailers in my area that use the RFID payment method, and none of my credit cards have RFID functionality, so I can't verify that. For RFID protection, it's just a layer of aluminum foil attached to a plastic card embedded in a wallet. A plastic card helps keep the wallet in shape. Back on topic, I know that aluminum foil blocks electrical signals since I wrapped it around my phone once and the electrical signal couldn't get through, so I'm pretty sure it's the same concept here. Great if you need extra protection I think, but if someone steals your credit card you can easily dispute it or report your card was stolen as soon as you get an app notification about unknown online purchases. The price of this wallet is a bit high. A lot of that is probably due to the light weight/water resistance of the material, and it's made in the USA. The wallet is very functional and comes with a 5 year guarantee. If you plan to use it long-term and still use paper invoices, this is a good investment.
