These hooks are BEST when they work, but the screws I recently bought the DuraHook with didn't work in my 1/4" galvanized metal. perforated board (Trademark AlligatorBoard). When I bought some of these hooks a few years ago, they came with working screws. The screws I recently received are too small to hold in the perforated metal plate - about 1/32 inch. Here are the screws that I know of: 1. 1/4" screws that come with hooks that I recently ordered (too small for the metal plate) 2. 1/8" screws that also come with hooks be (never used). This is for the smaller pad) 3. 1/4" screws I've gotten in the past (about 1/32" larger than new, works great in the metal pad). You may see conflicting reviews on this site depending on what type of pegboard people have and what type of screws they have. I don't know if the manufacturer (Triton Products) changed the screws used at some point, or maybe there's another reason I got different screws at different times. Anyway I contacted the manufacturer and they were able to send me some slightly larger screws to fit the metal plate. They work great so you'll probably want that as Plan AI couldn't find the right type of screws anywhere else other than Triton products; This is an unusual screw made for thin onlay, with very coarse threads and only 1/2 inch long. If you can't find good screws, I've looked into a few other options. If you can access the back of the fairing, it's easy. Use bolts with nuts. If you can't do this and need a "pocket hole" solution, I found an option called "Bore Nuts", aka "Rubber Insulated Rivets", are nuts; these are small rubber plugs with a Brass threaded insert. When you pull a screw in, they contract and expand. It's not elegant, but it works. You need thread size 6-32, bore size 1/4", overall length .981" with a 1 "6-32 machine screw and possibly a large #6 washer. The caveat with the nuts is that they are nearly 1" long, so you'll need some clearance behind the perforated plate. The shorter well nuts I could find were too large in diameter to fit the holes in the plate. Nuts, as well as various fixed rivets (I have not tried them). The DuraHook definitely won't work unless you can insert a strong screw or bolt into the perforated plate to secure it. If you have a galvanized perforated metal panel, don't plan on using the screws that come with these hooks. (Although they may work with some brands of metal plates, I don't know.)
