I returned the first set I ordered because I felt the collars didn't last very long on a charge. After receiving the replacement kit, I understand that this may have been operator error. The instructions that come with the collars are not very clear. So to help, here's what I found out. Short press the power button on the collar once to turn the collar on and long press (you will hear a beep and vibration) to turn it off. The green light that comes on when you turn the collar on only flashes briefly. The collar still works. The transmitter will turn itself off after a period of inactivity, so expect a slight delay in transmission if it has not been used for a long period of time. Cons: Receiver and collar are assembled. The instructions are poor. They only come with 2 charging cables, you need to charge 3 things (I bought another charging cable). Pros: Batteries last 4-7 or 8 days, I'm sure usage will affect that. The range is large. Charge fast, in a few hours. I didn't use the shock option as the beep works on my dogs. I recommend this product but I haven't had many of these yet so I don't know about the durability.
