
It is very important to note that cables longer than 2m are not correct for Pro Display XDR or other >5000TB monitors with AMD graphics cards work up to the 5000 series. You get 5k blown up and look pixelated. If you're using a professional XDR display and a 2019 Mac Pro, you'll need to upgrade to w5700x or w6800x or better. If your MacBook Pro is pre 2019 you will need to connect an optical cable to a compatible egpu with a pro display with 2m range. This is an extreme niche case for a niche product, but it makes finding the information you need difficult. Pre-5000-series AMD graphics just don't have the ability to compress a 6k signal enough to do the trick, for the same reason that the extra USB-C ports on xdr are limited to the bandwidth of older graphics are.
