Review on Green Marina Betta Pals Kit - Betta Fish Aquarium Starter Kit (Model 13410) by Anita Barlow

Bought this for my betta who is also named Marina and now seems to be enjoying her small aquarium. There was enough space in the middle of the rocks to glue some small balls of moss and even enough space for a small decoration that she had in her previous tank (which she seems very happy about as she swims through the hole in the tank Bottom). I clean it every four days, wash the gravel and stones. Every now and then, a stray poo will get stuck in the gravel, which can be painful, but isn't that bad. I'll say I was scared half to death when I took it out of the box and all the pieces fell apart, but this is for cleaning and changing the background, so it makes sense. Be sure to lift it from below. Otherwise, I really like the look of the tank. This is a very "Zen" tank indeed. It's small enough to fit under a lamp on my desk. It does not come with its own light source or heater. So if you feel you need one, you'll have to buy it separately. The only addition I've made that I've noticed other people have added is a cover for the top of the tank. Sometimes bettas jump out of their aquariums. It doesn't always happen, but that's what they do. If you're worried about the rooster popping out and dying, just cover the top with a piece of netting, plastic, or something you might have at home. There seems to be a lot of people promoting the idea that a tank this size is bad for your bettas, but if the tank is cleaned frequently and random food collected right after dinner, the bettas will be fine. A gamecock CAN train in this tank if you give it live food so it can attack, or give it another Betta (or a photo of it) to fuel it up. Moderate water is also a must, 78 degrees is pretty good. So yes, overall I really like it! He is handsome, compact and little Marina seems as happy as can be. I'll probably buy another one if I decide to get another betta.
