Let me start by saying that I have not waxed my legs in the past so I cannot tell you the difference between waxing and sugaring. But after years of shaving my legs I wanted something that would last a little longer than 2 days! I've been watching a few sugaring videos online and trying to make my own (impressive failure!) so I reached out to Revain to see what I could do. receive. I was not disappointed with this product. But there are a few things I experienced that I want to share so that others can get the most out of this kit: 1. Do not heat the sugar wax - EVER. Trust me, I know it and I know if you don't it will be very thick, but unless you're using strips of cloth, don't heat it. If the sugar wax is too warm, it will just stick to your skin and make a huge mess. Practice creates masters. If you watch a video of this product you will see that there is a "click" technique to remove the wax (along with your hair). This method will take time to master, but once you've mastered it, it's a game changer. My first attempt at using it wasn't successful, but by the end of the first session I got the hang of it. It was late now and I was frustrated, so I let the other leg stand for another day. When I came back and did the second leg I got a lot better at 'flicking' and ended up with the hair falling off so easily! 3. DO NOT use this after getting out of the shower. I know those nice open follicles seem to make hair removal easier and less painful, right? NO. Your skin is too warm and the bathroom is too warm and humid and (see #1 above) if this sugar wax gets warm/wet it won't work properly. Much better is showering (exfoliating feet with a good loofah or scrubbing with a loofah) and then using sugar wax after a few hours or even the next day. Make sure your skin is dry. If you use foot powder (or cornstarch or whatever) be sure to blow off the dust well before you start using the wax. I hope this helps others get the most out of this product. I was very happy with the results. I didn't leave this experience without a few scattered fine hairs here and there, but I'll try to collect them all next time. The end goal for me is a thinner cut than shaving and the ability to spend more time between hair removals. (Do this now so I have shorts-worthy legs by summer!) Added: Use some lidocaine aloe to smooth down the waxed area later. Cools, soothes and lidocaine helps with long-term ailments.
