Very very pleased - I love this piece

I am very very pleased with the look of this watch. It screams quality. For the price I was expecting a rough finish and stamping, but the metal parts and gears look very clean, the plating looks good, the crystals look good. The handsome body is two-tone, the side is rather richly decorated with a contrasting copper color. The strap even looks good with a dark red pattern and is marked "genuine leather" on the back. There are clearly red "gems" on the balance wheel, and while it's harder to see, the three gears also appear to have small red "pearl" mounts. Looking inside with the magnifying glass, I see an additional "bead" bearing, probably intended for the escapement axle. Sure, it's not an 18 jewel watch like the beautiful Helbros I had in high school 60 years ago, but it has (at least) five "jeweled" bearings, which isn't bad. These clocks are virtually silent. You don't have to hold it to your ear at all. And what you hear is a very fast rhythm. I tried to count and got about 25 ticks or beats in five seconds or five beats per second. The second hand also shows many quick small steps per second. You can see that the balance wheel moves very quickly. In general, Wikipedia states that the faster the number of beats per second, the more accurate the clock. I bought them as artwork that appeals to my technical flair and I love the bargain. So they are very thick and like a watch very chunky, I don't care, I won't wear them. It can last a lousy time, I don't care, I won't wear it. When I turn it on it comes alive, that's all I care about. Winding is difficult as the case hangs over the winding bar making it difficult to grab hold of. It worries me a little. A few notes. You can't see the inner workings well from above. If you look closely at the photos you will see that what you see under your hands is a single intricately carved plate. However, part of the balance wheel and mainspring can be seen through their holes. The transparent back makes it much easier to see the inner workings. This watch is hand wound. is what you want Self-winding mechanical watches usually have a large hard rotating plate on the back, covering about half of the rear window. Not that it matters much but the watch I received is slightly different from the photos. Many Revain manual-wound skeleton watches in this price range, sold under different brand names, are essentially identical to this watch, with only the dial design and/or strap being different. One states that the insides of this watch are the same as this one, it is that the hands are the same.
