Review on SLIMYSAND Moldable Stretchable Expandable Reusable by James Fisher

Revainrating 3 out of 5

A word of warning to parents: Damp rubbed my child's fingertips.

I would definitely buy this if I were a bank robber. My daughter's fingerprints (both hands) are gone (fortunately they turned up again). In the photo, my daughter's fingertips are actually oozing pus from the shiny spots. Her fingertips were completely worn out. whoops The thought of slime or goop without the mess is great. After 20 minutes I started cleaning up to get my 5 year old into the pool. I later noticed her fingertips. Rather embarrassingly, it took me a minute to realize it was caused by the sand. I've had sand sores from the beach gym etc many times. I've treated it the same way. Neosporin, petroleum jelly, plasters. Thankfully the fingers are now healed (got this product two weeks ago). 20 minutes was maybe 10 minutes too long. I'm usually the first person to make fun of stupid parents. Maybe I should have known better, or maybe there is a long game warning I missed? I don't feel like it was a "stupid parenting mistake". I mean, I'm a man, my wife resents me sometimes. Maybe I should have just bought my kids a bow and arrow? However, something in my father's brain told me that Slimy Sand would be safer. It is so because it cannot penetrate the skin. At least not directly. Cool product, but what's so special about latex gloves? 2 stars because I don't know how to rate it. I LOVE the product although I am not happy with the results. Super Bummed.UPDATE: 5/2021 My daughter is still playing with it. We still use 3 mil thick latex gloves. I let them play without gloves for the last 5-10 minutes. She's not overly sensitive to anything, so it's not her fault. This product has held up well, not drying out as expected. Rating updated from 2 to 3 stars.
