Not quite plug and play -

I'm using Windows 10 version 20H2 with an Asus Prime Z390-A motherboard. Nothing old and everything works perfectly. I connected the FS-N600T board to the PCI-e 3.0x1 slot and connected the Bluetooth cable to the USB 2.0 port on the motherboard according to the instructions. WiFi worked great but BT wasn't that cooperative. What followed was 12 hours of frustration, manual hunting, internet research, and swearing. When I turned on the computer after reassembly, Windows used the generic BT driver (which was reloaded on every reboot) and told me that the new board's BT 4.0 component was not working properly. I had to remove all my BT devices from the device list and uninstall the generic driver (several times). I finally got this thing to work by reconnecting the internal USB cable and running the manual Qualcomm BT 4.0 driver update found under Settings > Windows Update > Optional Updates > Driver Updates. The disk they provide is rubbish as you can't access any of the BT drivers from the standalone executable.

  • Brilliantly done
