Excellent functionality, good quality

I ordered this laptop to complement my larger, heavier laptop. The ASUS Chromebook met my needs because it gives me the internet and Google Drive access I need to access frequently, and the laptop is light enough to carry around in my backpack all day. Battery life is very good, and I can typically get three days on a single charge on a Chromebook. I ordered this particular model because I was looking for a more durable Chromebook and this one was perfect due to the rubberized corners and thicker case. However, I was surprised by the rather poor build quality of my particular Chromebook. I have two friends with the same model and neither of them have had the issues I've had since taking it out of the box. The plastic frame surrounding the LCD screen slips out in the bottom right corner and needs to be reattached a few times a month. The touchpad sometimes feels "loose" and doesn't always register my "soft" presses. Finally, regardless of the wireless network I'm connected to or the account I'm using, Google Drive loads slowly and lags when navigating through tabs, folders, and documents. I was very surprised that the Google apps run slower on this laptop than on my regular laptop which is over four years old. Overall, I'm happy with the ASUS Chromebook. It's small, portable and gives me access to everything I need; quickly and easily updated regularly; and it handles travel well. I'm frustrated with the small design issues I described above and the lack of speed or responsiveness when using Google Drive and other Google apps.
