Review on Transcend 64GB JetFlash 790 USB 3.0 πŸ” Flash Drive: Efficient Data Storage and Fast Transfer Speeds by Wiktor Franko ᠌

My money is wasted, the product is terrible.

I purchased two of them, so the issues that are described here are not due to the fact that two instances of the same thing were married; rather, they are due to the absence of either the model itself or a separate batch of flash drives. The maximum recording speed for USB 3.0 is 30 megabytes per second, and it never goes over that. In addition to this, it oscillates rapidly, taking the form of a high-frequency sinusoid on the graph (0-20-30-20-0-pause for a few seconds-again in a circular pattern). With an operating system of Windows 10 64 Bit, a USB 3.0 port on the motherboard, and a comparable (though significantly more expensive) flash drive from a different manufacturer, the recording of a movie with a volume of 5.5 GB takes approximately 10 minutes. This flash drive gives out 150-160 MB/s without any problems during the recording process, and it maintains these speeds consistently throughout the entire file transfer. Design: in theory, the extended USB connector is held normally; nevertheless, while installing a USB flash drive into the USB port, if you slightly touch it or slightly strain the USB flash drive, the connection immediately flies off the lock and retracts into the casing. This is because the connector is designed to be held in place by a spring mechanism. This is, in my view, the worst flash drive out of the 100,500 different kinds that I have tried (Chinese products purchased from a well-known express site do not count toward this total). I would strongly advise against it.

Pros
  • Cost and availability
Cons
  • Very slow and unreliable write performance, and a poorly designed product overall.
