This has become my favorite batting for baby blankets and other quilts. It's low loft and has some puffiness, but don't expect the puffiness you get with polyester batting. It has an amazing drape, is breathable and warm. It's easy to work with right out of the box - it won't wrinkle or warp like polyester batting. Remember he sheds like a hound - on my latest project I regularly used a reusable lint brush to keep loose fibers from getting into the quilting lines. I believe most of the hair loss was due to raw edges when I was quilting prior to tying although there was a slight beard. I knit with cotton yarn, it definitely encourages a beard. Now I buy these in a king size which is enough for 4-6 baby blankets.
