I purchased this in June 2019. I like the strength of this mount. I snapped the antenna off the truck and the mount was fine. Love the fact that I can just screw the UHF connector right into the bottom of the mount. Furnished very clean. After my first antenna broke after just 1 month, I fitted a 304 stainless steel quick connector and spring base with a Firestik antenna. Very durable, never had a problem, reception was always good. Fast forward to October 2020, I finally got my antenna up on the sunroof door and bent the tuning knob on top. It's time to change the antenna. The new antenna was much larger so I decided to remove the 304SS quick coupler and spring (only 8 inches) and screw the antenna directly onto the bracket. I had to use a pipe wrench! The threads and the entire top of the bracket are oxidized. White powder gushes over the threads and coating on the mount's surface. Does it look like zinc oxide? It shouldn't hang loose even with anti-seize paste. With proper preparation and maintenance, this is a good fastener.
