Can be used but not recommended. I read a few reviews before purchasing this parasol but I can tell you that the quality control is definitely below par and you should be aware of some of the complaints of this product being fragile or poorly assembled. Right. Unpacked, my Velcro for attaching the umbrella was sewn very poorly, only 70% of one of the 4 sides was sewn. Also 3 folding rods ruptured when I gently pushed the sun visor onto the windshield, mind you I didn't push the thing closed but pushed with maybe 5 pounds of force. TL; DR poor quality control, weak construction, sun visor side coating and material are ok but still not recommended.
