I have no idea how cold it is but I filled it with room temperature drinks and in just a few hours everything was cold, cold, cold! The fan noise is pleasant, not too loud. He's in a hotel room now, but I don't think I can hear him in the car. I almost broke the damn lid trying to figure out how to open it and I'm glad I didn't! The handle opens in one direction and closes in the other. Just peasy once I figure it out. And I like that the cables are already connected and in their compartment at the top because I lose the cables like nobody wants it. Very happy with this purchase.
