It does not replace the real metal paint used for rust.
I bought this to see if I could use it in place of the very expensive metallic paint used to corrode things that don't normally rust. It didn't work but the magnet stuck to the plastic paint mixing bucket I was using. So if you want a magnetic wall to hang photos, you can try this. It's black so it must be a primer. I also mixed in a 1 to 1 ratio.
