I've had this humidifier for 5 months now. At first I thought it was great! It worked well, performed great, was easy to fill and a full tank lasted a long time. I have tried using filtered or distilled water and changed the water every day. I cleaned the device once a week according to the instructions and the method described. After about 6-8 weeks I noticed pink mold on the bottom of the mist release valve. The valve is not accessible because the block is not dismantled in this area. I used a toothbrush to get inside the valve to clean it. I finished cleaning, assembling and restarting the unit. Two days later I noticed the pink mold had returned. This time I contacted the company to see if they could offer any advice on how to get rid of the mold. I was told to do exactly what I had already done. I did it again, only this time I let the device dry for a few weeks before using it again. The pink mold returned two days later. I contacted the company again and they suggested soaking the device in vinegar for 20 minutes and then brushing off the pink mold. I followed the instructions, cleaned the device thoroughly and then restarted it. This time the pink mold returned within a few hours. I had had enough and contacted the company to ask how I could return the device for a refund as I had already gone through Amazon's return window. I was told I could return it and get a refund but shipping would be at my expense. Shipping is $24! Almost half the equipment cost. Not this humidifier. If mold gets on it, you won't be able to take it apart to clean it properly. If you then try to ship it back, the company will make you pay for the return postage. I am very disappointed in this device and the company.
