Day and night, this keyboard's backlight is bright. Whether I use it for printing or gaming, it works great for both. The keys are close enough that I don't feel like my fingers are reaching out to reach the keys. My only complaint is that I wish I had the numbers on the site as well, but I can still use the numbers above, but that was the only thing that bothered me. Other than that, this keyboard is really cool. When I start typing a document, the keyboard doesn't light up until I press a key. The key lights up as I type, then goes off when I don't press it. The lights on the side stay on as long as my computer is on. If it is off, the light will go out because there is no food. I ended up buying a mouse that actually matches the keyboard so I have a well-lit workspace. This keyboard is a delight for the adults and children in this house, myself included.
