My cat is incredibly picky and I tried another laxative/hairball control product at the pet store which he didn't touch. The other product was too thick for him, but Tomlyn Laxatone has the perfect texture. It's sticky, not hard, and he licks it off the back of a spoon. Tolstoy was simply thrown on the floor in one piece and he stopped trying to lick it. He used to have severe constipation, which tells us that a visit to the vet costs $200 for a cat enema. ! Laxathon has helped us save money and put him out of his pain which is great. I highly recommend it. We give him 1/2 inch "drops" 2-3 times a day which is perfect for him. He likes the taste so he thinks he gets a treat, in fact we eliminated the regular treats and he gets it easily and his constipation has improved a lot. He's 14 years old, has a "megacolon" and will always be constipated, but this is making him more regular. It also reduced his vomiting, which was partly caused by normal cat hairballs, but I think he vomited when he was actually constipated.
