Review on HP 2009M 20 Inch LCD Monitor with 1600X900 Resolution and Built-In Speakers by Matt Liu

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Great for Mac Mini

I originally preferred the Dell monitor for my new (Late 2009) Mac Mini. However, it disappeared from sale, so I found HP 2009m. I couldn't be happier. The display is nice and bright. I never thought I would want a glossy screen but I have no problem and the colors on the screen are really vibrant. The glossy black finish around the monitor and the aluminum-like stand are reminiscent of an Apple monitor, so it suits Apple's modern style quite well. The speakers may not be of the highest quality, but with a little tweaking in iTunes they sound good. me and i am happy with them. However, if you are a music lover, you will not like them. The volume on the monitor is a bit odd (as are all the controls), but I just leave it at the highest level and then use the Mac's volume controls. All the documentation I've read says the monitor only comes with a VGA cable. I was willing to buy DVI to plug into the mini-DVI adapter that came with the Mac Mini. To my surprise, however, a regular DVI cable was included. It's listed on the box and in all the packaging info so I'm assuming my monitor wasn't an accident and they all come with a VGA and a DVI cable. I would happily recommend this monitor to anyone especially if you are buying a Mac Mini.
