Because this was such a deep shade of blue, I was worried that the dye would run as happens with newly purchased jeans. The label said handwash, but I put it into my washing machine inside a lingerie bag and used the delicate setting. I air dried it afterwards. That worked very nicely. I threw a couple of Shout-brand color catchers in the machine when I washed it to see if any of the dye ran, but the color catchers came out white, so no worries.
