It exploded in my hand!

I put in 4 new batteries and the coffee grinder didn't work. I walked away for 5 minutes and went back to a VERY WARM unit and it kept getting hotter. I was about to unscrew the lid when it exploded and one of the batteries came flying out of the box like a bullet, hitting a cabinet across the room. Other batteries were so hot that they could not be touched. If that had been directed at my face, I would have written that today from the hospital. Has anyone had this problem with Lofuanna - Portable Electric Vacuum Foot Sander?
