Whoever gave these horrific, useless, confusing instructions should be fired, as should anyone who approved them. I worked for 15 years in a company installing new computers for a department of 60+ computers, some VGA, most DVI when I retired last year and some good HDMI connections to monitors. Never had a problem sorting it. But I've mostly worked on desktop computers and now I have a laptop with WiFi at home. Lots of changes and knowledge BUT DELL SHOULD NOT SEND INSTRUCTIONS WHICH HAVE NO WORDS ONLY PHOTOS WITHOUT MARKS. I AM SO ANGRY AT DELL! I've sworn by Dell monitors for 10 years, not anymore. If they want to send those instructions to home users, they just don't care about the user experience anymore. Yes, and the photo instructions assume you connect a monitor to DEDKTOP. INCREDIBLE! Many of us work from home, which requires a much larger screen than a typical laptop. end of discourse. In the end I realized I just needed to use an HDMI cable and nothing else except the one that allows you to charge the phone on the base of the stand. One of the reviewers of the wireless version of this model saved me from giving it up for the night. THANKS. He left specific instructions after having major trouble figuring out the settings. I even went online to double check the model but their setup instructions were pretty useless too. In conclusion, unless you have a very modern geek at home, DO NOT GET THIS MONITOR. Installing it will make you throw the damn thing in the trash, which is an expensive way of expressing your frustration! Simply take your laptop to Best Buy or a reputable local computer store and ask for their help in choosing the right monitor for your needs and the adapters you may need to make it work. DO NOT ORDER THIS ONLINE IF YOU DO NOT KNOW MUCH ABOUT COMPUTER SETUP, JUST CURRENT KNOWLEDGE. Next time I'll go to Best Buy instead of online. The technology seems to have quickly surpassed the knowledge I had less than a year ago. DELL, your instructions ABSOLUTELY stink. Might as well do them in Chinese!
