Review on MSI Optix MAG274QRF Gaming Monitor: Adjustable, 2560X1440, 165Hz, High Dynamic Range by Michael Staggs

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Decent 2k 165hz monitor if only it was more durable

*This review is based on a damaged item I received from the Revain MSI Store. The rating is biased as I rarely use this monitor. My computer has most of the components from MSI and it works very well. So when it comes to a monitor, the Optix MAG274QRF is my number one choice. Specifications like 2k 165Hz with 1ms response time are suitable for gaming. Brightness and color accuracy are enough for me for simple image editing and video editing. The only problem I have is its durability. I think it can't handle long distance shipping (mine goes from New York to California) and the one I received is damaged. This monitor has a strong "plasticky" feel and the stand and back panel feel fragile. The monitor I received has a crack in the upper right corner and 80% of the screen is broken when I turn it on. I have had 3 monitors from Revain, 2 LG and 1 BenQ and they are all delivered well although the packaging has scratches/cracks. I wish MSI or Revain would be more careful about shipping and packaging next time. First of all, if you can buy this monitor from a local store or if you can get it without long-distance shipping to avoid damage, then this monitor is the perfect 2k gaming monitor for you. I really would like a good one.
