I was very happy to get this table and chair for my son so I placed an order. The set came disassembled in a well-stocked box. A lot of styrofoam in the box (oh, irresponsible, bad for the environment). Everything was well organized and set up was fairly easy. The look of the assembled table and chair set was a little cheaper, industrial and formal than I expected. The use of metal tubing covered in cheap glossy paint gives the impression of a 1950s or 1960s desk found in old public schools or government buildings. I would pay a few bucks more for a brushed durable powder coated metal finish or prefer the whole thing to be made out of quality plastic/polymer. The lamp's structure is held in place by friction only, not screws, so I'm sure my son will eventually pull it out of its socket (which curious kids do). The same goes for box holders/stands. It is held in place by nothing but limited friction. Also, in terms of construction, there was a spot where the tube rod had to be inserted into the chair for extra support, and the metal tubes it was inserted into weren't stamped properly (really amateur metalwork), so I had to they use force and hope it doesn't fall out or slip out during assembly. When the table was finally assembled I noticed that raising or lowering the table is a bit dangerous. It should have been designed differently. This is dangerous and I see that I need to keep a close eye on my son when he uses the desk because if he were trying to get used to it I could see him pinching or cutting his finger. Likewise, there is a half-inch space between the edge of the table and the fixed area at the end. There is no functional reason for this gap and I can only see where a toddler or child could pinch their fingers when lowering the table. I will leave the table as not worth taking apart and returning but overall it's a disappointment. I looked forward to a table that my son would use with pride for years to come.
