Two errors M2X, unsuccessful purchase

, I bought two mydigitalssd nvme M2X external enclosures and both failed in the first 5 minutes. One was updated to the latest firmware (0206) before use, the other after. Both showed the same source of error on all three of my most recent operating systems and were connected via USB 3.1 Gen 1 and/or 3.1 Gen 2. Several cables have been tried. HARDWARE - Mojave on MacBook Pro Latest Update - Windows 10 Professional PC Latest Update - RedHat Linux PC Latest Update I've used the following various M.2 sticks and the included cooling tape with no success. They all fail after a few minutes on both M2X drives: - Samsung 960 pro 1TB MLC - Samsung 970 evo 2TB TLC - PNY XLR8 sc3030 2TB TLC cheaper version. systems as I need it). They will be registered on all desktops after formatting, like other external drives. They all accept files for copying in the first minute or so. It seems that when copying files back from the M2X to the target computer, both suddenly become unusable for no apparent reason. Either they stop copying and the light stays on and everything looks fine but the drive is no longer available, or the light blinks for an hour. This can happen with a TB test video file or the smallest 1 megabyte test file. M2X just blocks completely and sometimes remains visible or jus5 disappears. Shutting down a Mac, Windows or Linux after locking only happens if you physically uninstall M2X. I tried different files from different sources with the same result. I have exhausted all reasonable testing avenues. Also, unsurprisingly, after a reboot the M2X won't mount or even show up on any computer, regardless of the device discovery properties or the Mac etc. Trying to reinitialize or reformat the case (of course, depending on the operating system) is practice in vain. Just by physically removing the m.2 from the M2X enclosure can I reformat and safely use the same M.2 sticks on any system again. This merely points to M2X as a recurring point of failure. This drive may not be exfat compatible, but I've never experienced this issue on any hardware before. I need every external drive to be useful on ALL systems. So if you're looking for this device to reliably transfer large amounts of video or data files back and forth, forget it. I read some reviews online with similar results and obvious shorting issues but was hoping this was a rare occurrence. After two with the same issues, that's either the worst quality control or it just doesn't work. In any case I have to refuse and return all items. I am sending them back to the seller - Revain. I really miss the leadership of Mydigitalssd and the customer support is email only, which is absolutely not the case. If anything changes I will revise my review as I really wanted this to work.
