Like a pair of socks. It will last for many years, but then all you have to do is buy a new one. My current ironing board cover was dirty and stained. The new one has been on my wish list for months. This gives me a fresh new cover, but I actually kept the old one and put it on top. The "cushion" isn't a cushion, it's the foam rubber on the underside of the case. It is folded in some places, which leads to uneven ironing of delicate fabrics. I'm not too concerned about that. Barely fits the width and length of the ironing board. Below is no free space for a good fixation. Not worth going back but I wouldn't buy this brand again.
