We are expecting our second child and need a crib but my 2 year old is not ready for a full sized bed. I didn't want to spend a lot of money on a crib because it would only be used for a few years. I also wanted it to match the color of the crib (DaVinci Kalani Espresso) because later they will both be in the same room. This hit the mark on both accounts. The assembly was a bit more intense than I expected. The sides of the frame are made up of 4 shorter pieces that need to be bolted together instead of 2 long pieces. The brackets don't have pre-drilled holes so it was difficult to attach them and align them properly with the pre-drilled holes you will need later. The rest is pretty easy, but the headboard is also made up of 4 separate pieces that need to be assembled instead of just one, which was an unnecessary extra step. A few blemishes: the pre-drilled holes didn't quite line up the two pieces completely, which while a little annoying, didn't really affect the strength of the beds or other pieces. My daughter's crib mattress was a perfect fit and she was very happy with her large crib. . She slept in it last night and was happy with it. She looks cute in her room. In general I am satisfied. Maybe I could find an easier to build one for a bit more money, but for now this should work.
