Thousands of damages could not be prevented due to poor construction

Equipment pole struck by lightning. This did not stop the wave from entering the home and burning thousands of dollars worth of equipment. And you can see why, that's bad design. The PCB traces are undersized and burn out, disconnecting the surge arresters from the Ethernet lines.
