I used a regular iron to heat with great results!
Great job! Laying carpet for the first time and thanks to this adhesive tape, the laying went flawlessly. I turned both sides of the rug over (the fibrous/hairy side on the floor), made sure both edges were cut perfectly evenly, taped the two edges together, put duct tape on the seam and used a regular iron to heat. I heated it longer to allow the glue to seep through the cut edges and stick to the "root" of the fibers to keep the edges from fraying.
