An air filter works like any other. Mine has 0 smell. Doesn't smell like fever at all. Surcharge for no reason. Also, I've tried installing it multiple times and I don't know if the setting is disabled, but now when I turn on my AC you can hear a buzzing sound like the fan hitting the filter. I pulled it out and reinstalled it and can't see where it hits. But the noise continues. I don't know if I consider this a true factory replacement or if it's worth the extra money. Pretty disappointed. I may now have to spend more money to buy a new one to get rid of the awful hum I now enjoy when I turn on the air conditioner just in time for the start of summer.
