I purchased this product after spraining my ankle the week before Tough Mudder SOcal. At my event, this bandage worked perfectly and is highly recommended. I walk a lot on rough terrain and almost sprained my other ankle. So I decided to buy another highly rated ankle brace, the ASO ankle stabilization brace. The positive: Both work on the same principle and both serve their purpose. Snug fitting yet flexible greaves with two cross straps and one around the lower calf/upper ankle. They both get 5 stars from me, there are slight differences between them which I will list here. : McDavid is tight on the arch of the foot and is more difficult to remove. Tends to be a little uncomfortable if overtightened. You have to untie a few shoelaces to take it off. It feels more comfortable than ASO. I would say this one offers slightly better support around the ankles at the expense of more discomfort. Fine if you have a major sprain. ASO gives you great mobility while still providing excellent ankle support. Easier to take off. I wear 9.5 shoes so I'm an average size for both. Overall, both are good, although the McDavid sits a little tighter on the leg. I still give both 5 stars as both work as intended.
